How many people do you know who would say the turkey vulture is their favorite animal? None, right? Well...not if Lauren Pharr has anything to say about it.
With a PhD from LSU's Department of Geography and Anthropology, she not only loves turkey vultures, she's made a career out of studying them. In particular, she studies they way the large birds scavenge for dead things, mainly animals and sometimes humans. Her techniques and insight have led her to become a huge asset for investigators as they try to solve murder cases.
